If you’re asking for someone’s time don’t add this hedge to the end of your ask:

“If 5 minutes into the call, it doesn’t seem relevant, happy to shake hands a call it a day.”

This may feel disarming, but to me it’s disqualifying. If you don’t believe your pitch is worth my time, then why would I?
