One Year of Foxglove

The last year felt like a decade in the best way possible. One year ago today I joined Foxglove to build out the Technical Solutions organization and I couldn’t be more proud of the team that we’ve been able to build, the products that we’ve been able to ship, and the customers that we’ve been able to support in their rapid growth as they scale their robots from prototype to production.

I dove right into things with a team offsite in Tuscon where I got a chance to meet the whole team, saw my first rattlesnake, and also kicked off interviews for new teammates on my third day at the company.

This offsite was followed by the 2nd annual Actuate conference where I was lucky enough to be the “voice of god” announcing speakers before their talks. I got to meet all of the speakers, had a front row seat to each talk, and spent some quality time with attendees. I didn’t know a ton about Robotics coming into the role but Actuate left a buzz of excitement, opportunity, and momentum that stayed with me the rest of the year.

I spent the first few months meeting as many customers as possible, helping figure out our various deployment options, and recruiting a bunch of SEs and FDEs. I got a chance to travel to Japan and Singapore to continue to build momentum in our business in Asia as well as attend my first ROS Con.

A year later we’ve almost tripled our team, watched our customer footprint greatly expand, and launched a ton of valuable functionality. I traveled all around the US on countless flights to see our customers, went to London (twice) and also spent time in Paris, Munich, and Zurich planting the seeds for our growing presence in the EU with Actuate field sessions.

Every time I visit a customer’s office it feels like we are walking into a place that is creating the future. There is a certain energy at Robotics companies that you feel the moment you walk in the door. The people are determined, you can hear the sound of actuators actuating, and there is almost always someone in in the corner screwing something in or taking something apart. I can’t imagine ever going back to just pure software after this.

A few weeks ago I had the honor of giving a product demo of all the new products we’ve shipped in the middle of Adrian’s keynote at Actuate 2026. This was such a great full circle moment for me; going from someone who didn’t know a ton about robotics backstage last year, to delivering a live demo on stage to 1500+ roboticist on the first day of the conference this year.

I am so grateful to the leadership team at Foxglove for giving me a chance to build this team, all the folks in the Technical Solutions org that have taken the leap to join me on this journey, all of my colleagues in other parts of the company that make Foxglove a great place to work, and of course all of our customers that put their trust in us every day to help them remove toil and take their robots to production as fast as possible. A year is a great milestone, but we’re just getting started and I can’t wait to see what year two brings.
