Today I am once again reminded that the hardest part of shipping software is testing. I got my thing to work in a few minutes and then spent hours fiddling with jest, typescript, etc. I still can’t get jest to work because I don’t care to understand the difference between ESM and BDSM or whatever else. Just wrote some vanilla tests using emojis for pass and fail. ✅/❌
Things are finally working but the great feeling of joy from getting something to work was beaten out of me by JS. You win again.
