Before AI generated blog posts took over we had a bunch of bad writing that overused buzz words and cliches (https://levlaz.org/forbidden-words/). When I would come across one of those in a piece of writing my brain would just turn off.
I’ve been having a similar reaction whenever I see an emdash these days. Brain just turns off and I stop reading.
Yeah I know an emdash is real thing that has its place in grammar, but AI ruined it for everyone.
