“No Phones in the Ten-Don Shop” by Craig Mod is a wonderful essay about the magical little food shops in Japan. I did not go to this place but went to a few like it in Tokyo a few weeks ago and I am still thinking about them. Also reminded that I have not written a single word about that trip and I should fix that soon before the words all fly away.
