No Politics in the Workplace
A few weeks ago there was this big uproar about meritocracy because the CEO of ScaleAI led the way by putting his foot down and said no more DEI and politics at work, after a bunch of others did it as well. They even found this nice vanity domain and featured all the other people that gave themselves a pat on the back about doing this.
It’s funny how the people that say no politics at work are also the same ones that shove their own politics down your throat on a regular basis.
What rhymes with hypocrisy? https://www.meritocracy.com/
Today there is this gem where Elon is sad about gay people existing so he decided to pull a Cartman and move his HQ to Texas. “Screw you guys, I’m going to Texas.”
Musk Says He Will Move X and SpaceX Headquarters Out of California, Move follows new California law affecting communications between schools and families over gay and transgender students
I guess this is what it looks like when you have a meritocracy that keeps politics out of the workplace.

From Jakub Krehel, a new blog post about self constraint in the era when AI makes it easy to ignore constraints altogether. My caveat is that the post doesn’t fully come together for me – jumping from AI to animations and then back to AI the way the author...

Eight years ago, I wrote about my theory of restoring struggling teams, which came down to four steps: A team is falling behind if each week their backlog is longer than the week before. Solve by hiring more. A team is treading water if they’re able to get...
