Regina Spektor

| music |

Music has always had a special place in my song and in my time of need it is the only thing that has not abandoned me. I was in search of a song to help me out of my rut. It did not take me long to find the right song. I have heard of Regina Spektor in the past but never really gave her a second thought.

This song i heard today called “Fidelity” hit home at this time. Her voice is so beautiful and the lyrics strike a chord in my soul. In the song she has a happy ending (or what it seems like to me).Unfortunately I am not able to get one of those but I can still enjoy the music.

"And suppose I never ever met you
Suppose we never fell in love
Suppose I never ever let you kiss me so sweet and so soft
Suppose I never ever saw you
Suppose we never ever called
Suppose I kept on singing love songs just to break my own fall
Just to break my fall
Just to break my fall
Break my fall
Break my fall"

As a journalist by training, I have what you might call an addiction to facts. I believe that there are things that are true and things that are not, and that we can determine one from the other through observation, rational thought, and meticulous resear…

Back to the Future

This past weekend, I decided to take a trip down memory lane and take a look at the evolution of this blog’s design over the years (with a little help from the Wayback Machine). While I’ve really enjoyed the challenge of making an obsessively backwards co…
