RSS Easter Egg

| blogging | indieweb |

I came across this post today from Kev Quirk on Mastodon about reading old blog posts. It’s something I do regularly because of this nostalgia Dagger module that I wrote a few months ago. I hooked it up to my Novu module, and now I get an email every day letting me know what posts I wrote on this day throughout the years.

That post encouraged me to subscribe to his blog, and it comes with a delightful easter egg when you read it via the feed. I am excited to figure out how he did this. :)

I am also feeling inspired by other parts of his site too, like the about page is in the form of iMessages. It’s brilliant. Lots of folks say that the “old internet” is dead or dying. It inspires me to see sites like Kev’s keeping things alive.

Thank you for reading! Share your thoughts with me on bluesky, mastodon, or via email.
